Photographic project
Each scar is a wound that reveals in our body its own experience of self-healing, but for me, this marks remains also in our mind, as it brings memories, moments, and tells a story.
Regarding my project, I was interested in the stories told through each scar, which often open up a wide variety of conversations and memories that leave an everlasting mark on our skin. The touching thing about them is the fact that these are stories that for many people characterize a moment of power, strength, laughter or even of disgrace.
I tried to capture all these stories, to relive them, to share them, and to appreciate their particularities. I photographed the scars in close-up and marked each one with a word and a handwritten typography, stitching the word on the photograph with a black thread that gives an extra touch to the hidden secret.
